Color captivates at Golden Globes

Hollywood's leading ladies made their fashion statements in color at the 68th Golden Globe Awards. Two extremes of the spectrum reigned in fashion, with sherbet shades of pink and coral and jewel tones of emerald green and ruby red most popular in gowns favoring long-sleeves or strapless, backless or slit, with sparkles and sequins still trending. Taylor auction is a gem, sales top $157 million

Four days of live auctions in New York and a 10-day online auction from the Hollywood film legend's collection took in a total of $156,756,576, or more than three times expectations. Taylor's world-renowned collection of diamonds, rubies, sapphires, pearls, emeralds and more accounted for the vast majority of the haul, selling for a combined $137 million and becoming by far the most valuable jewelry sale ever. Winners Announced for AGTA's 2012 Spectrum Awards™ Competition

Dallas, TX - October 25, 2011: Winners have been named in the 2012 AGTA Spectrum Awards™ competition hosted by the American Gem Trade Association. This year marks the 28th anniversary of the competition.
The competition was judged October 22-23 in New York, NY. Judges for the 2012 competition were jeweler Klaus Burgel, Sylvain Chervin of Carvin French, Cindy Edelstein of the Jewelers Resource Bureau, Patricia Faber of Aaron Faber Gallery, and Clay Zava of Zava Master Cuts. MORE
