The first IU Awards ends with the grand presentation ceremony in Hong Kong

The IU Awards presentation ceremony was held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Hall on September 21. Around 200 people gathered at the grand foyer to celebrate and appreciate the winning pieces.
IU Awards is the first international gem-cutting and jewelry design competition dedicated to promoting colored gemstones. "IU" stands for the initials of International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) and UBM Asia. There are two categories in the IU Awards competition: jewellery design and gem-cutting. MORE

Rio Tinto's $60 million pink diamonds arrive to London's palace

Rio Tinto (LON, ASX, NYSE: RIO) have started showing Tuesday its rare Argyle pink diamonds at London’s Kensington Palace in a collection that features more than $60 million in jewellery made with the coloured gems.
The exhibition, entitled "Out of the Vault: Pink Diamonds and Royalty," unveils the tales of the Argyle pink diamonds and their experiences with the royal families, sultans, maharajas and other colourful clientele. MORE
