New Exhibit Series "Aluminati" Spotlights Gem and Jewelry Stars
The GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Museum announced today the launch of a new exhibit series, "Aluminati: From Student to Star," which will highlight the talents of Institute alumni who have made waves in the gem and jewelry industry. The first exhibit in the series, featuring AGTA Member and designer Kara Ross, will debut in April at GIA's world headquarters in Carlsbad, CA. MORE

Prices for certain colored stones keep climbing

Coloured gemstones at auction: the next big thing?

In May last year Bonhams New York announced that it was to hold its first ever gemstone and mineral auction. The reason? The auction house had recognised growing demand for such a specialised sale. Black Swan star Mila Kunis has signed a new deal as global brand ambassador for precious stone specialist an Agta Member, Gemfields. The Hollywood actress has loaned her face to Gemfields's latest advertising campaign, photographed by renowned Italian fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti and styled by Anastasia Barbieri, AFP report. Shama Kabani wrote "The Zen of Social Media Marketing" as an e-book. How it got picked up by a traditional publisher is anything but traditional. After tweeting about her new book, a New York literary agent sent Ms. Kabani a tweet about her interest in publishing it.
